What is Nitrox?
Nitrox is actually any combination of nitrogen and oxygen. Regular breathing
air is comprised of approximately 21% Oxygen and 79% Nitrogen. Nitrox
mixtures with percentages of oxygen greater than 21% are called Enriched Air
Nitrox (EANx).
Why become a PADI Enriched Air Diver?
Enriched Air Nitrox offers advantages for all divers, including:

1. Extended bottom times

2. Shorter surface intervals
3. Shorter decompression stops
4. Less post dive fatigue
5. Nitrogen loading declines as per mix

What do I need to start?
1. A current PADI Open Water Student (or qualifying certification from
another organization)
2. Minimum age: 15 years
What will I do?
The PADI Enriched Air Diver Specialty certification emphasizes the
theoretical and operational considerations involved with enriched air
diving.
How long will it
take?
1. One academic session with an Enriched Air Instructor
2. Open Water training: 2 Nitrox dives - can be done in one day!
What will I need?
The PADI Enriched Air crew pack includes all material need to learn and dive
with Nitrox. It comes with the PADI Enriched Air manual, 32% table,
36% table, and Equivalent air depth/Oxygen exposure table. The crew
pack comes as part of your Enriched Air specialty course.
